About Jess Dempsey

My creative journey began in fashion—first as a Visual Merchandiser for one of the world’s most iconic designer brands, then as a celebrity stylist for major red carpet events like the Logies and AFI Awards. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for design and aesthetics—whether styling a look or curating a space, visual storytelling was at the heart of everything I did.

In 2010, I took a career leap and launched my fashion blog What Would Karl Do? Where I shared my love for Chanel (with Karl at the throne), editorial style outfits and later, my motherhood journey. It was a time when blogs were new and Instagram didn’t yet exist. That bold move placed me among the first wave of digital influencers, giving me the incredible opportunity to attend international fashion weeks, work with global luxury brands, and build a loyal and local audience that’s stayed with me over the years.

But creativity doesn’t stand still.

After more than a decade in fashion and digital media—creating content, hosting Holistic Living on 7Flix, and producing campaigns for Australia’s top lifestyle brands—I felt the pull to return to something deeply personal: art.

Drawing has always been a quiet love of mine, something I excelled in during VCE, and over the years it evolved into a full-fledged passion. Today, my focus is on creating digital artworks that reflect beauty and re-living moments in still life, a seaside escape and notes from my fashion journey and European heritage (Maltese/Italian).

While my work may look different now, my purpose is the same: to inspire, connect, and create something meaningful.

I’m also a proud mum of three boys and wife to Josh. I love my mornings at pilates with a coffee to follow, holidaying in Noosa and the Mornington Peninsular and dream of going back to Italy and Malta, where my family is from.

Whether you’ve followed my journey from fashion to art or are just discovering my work, thank you for being here. My path has taken many forms, but it’s all led to this creative chapter—and I’m so excited to share it with you.
